i think most people have given reed a second chance. his attitude has changed immensely, and he's a much more likeable person to root for now.

that video is pretty much how i remembered it. stewart hits weimers front tire, with his front tire, then forces him into the tough block and weimer goes down. i think what makes it look cheap to me is that stewart is not in front of weimer when he makes his first contact. weimer is actually slightly in front of stewart.

my opinion is that it was not two races who just went into the same line, it was stewart trying to stick it in like he is still the champ of SX, and lowly weimer has no right racing him. weimer gets a free pass next race, hopefully he executes a nice clean block pass on stewart.

I've never been a fan of the foreign riders coming over and winning, but I can't hate on Reed.  I like how he is doing his own thing with his team and making it work.  Great ride for him.  At least he's a cool Aussie and not some freakin fancy talkin Frenchman.
A few years ago, there was an article about how Reed didnt share his bonuses with his team. I guess this was proper etiquette and the norm with other racers. It also mentioned a bunch of other stuff I cant remember that he did that pissed people off. That led to him not having a ride and having a hard time getting sponsors.
I think with him trying to run a team and basically starting all over again has humbled him a little. I used to hate him for that, but watching him work hard to get to where he is now I think he deserves some credit.

Part of it growing up, I'm sure we all have done stupid things with a lot less attention on us and pressure.  He must not of treated Goose to bad when he was at zuk for one of the top mechanics to come work at his team.

I am a fan as well now for this reason.  The guy is breaking his balls and doing things the right way.  I used to hate him too.  He was always complaining about the bike, the other rider, something someone else did.  It was never his fault. Now that he owns the team he doesn't do taht anymore.  Plus he put up a ton of his own money to start the race team, which speaks volumes about his passion.

That was what I percieved as well.  Kind of a "how dare YOU be ahead of ME??? I am going to show you who the faster rider is!".  Hence, dick move.  Hopefully Weimer puts him into the stands the next race, then kicks him in the nuts.

I've watched it a bunch of times and I still don't see it as dirty. Stewart is one of the top riders in the world, if he wanted to clean out Weimer he would have blown him off the track. It was definitely aggressive but that's racing. He had inside positioning. All Weimer had to do was brake and let him go. He hung in and Stewart shut the door.  I don't mean to sound like a JS7 die hard because I'm not. It's just passes like this happen every week and the only reason this is getting attention is that it was Stewart doing it this time. I don't remember this conversation last season when Reed blatently shot across the corner and took out Stewart and himself.

I'm far from a stewie fan other then when he is fast his crashes can be spectacular.  I watched the Go Pro video before it was removed and it was 100% a racing incident.  It was aggressive but he showed Weimer his tire well before the turn to let him know hey I'm here and checking up on the inside.   I still like to hate on and blame Stewie though!

I just think they all should be held to the same standard. I'm really not for anyone, more like for good racing. For example watch the pass that RV put on Metcalf in the main last weekend. RV makes an aggressive move to the inside and you can see he hits Metcalf's front wheel. Granted Metcalf didn't go down, but I put that as an equal to the Stewart move. Both are just good racing.

for the record, i dont have a problem with people taking others out while racing, part of racing is getting crashed in corners, when it happens to you your pissed at the guy who did it, when you do it to someone, your pissed that they got in your way.

Im guessing thats why it got taken off youtube LOL

Here you go skip to 2:10 you will see Reedy smoke Stewie.  After that they show the Stewie weimer deal not even a close call it was agressive but very much racing.

Good race this week!  #7 finally stayed on the bike and killed it.  Unfortunately now we will have to hear about this EVERY SINGLE WEEK even if he doesn't win another one though. :)

I was hoping the race was going to be way more exciting, with Reed, Stewart, and Villopoto all stacked up.  But stewart made an easy pass and RV, backed off.

You know Jeff, every race James Stewart doesnt crash in, he wins.

Yeah.... js7 won.  He's still a pos in my opinion. Don't care how fast he is. I sure wouldn't say he killed it either. Reed did good. Poto was awesome coming up through the pack but fizzled out uncharacteristic of him. Oh well. Onto next week.

Probably one of the smarter races for Stewart.  Maybe the JGR boys are getting things straightened out in his head.  Great ride by Reed, and RV looked human for once.  I was really surprised to see him not hang with Stewart when he passed Reed.  Once again, a great racing season.  It's great to tune in and not already know who is going to win.
