I believe the exact words you said were "you can save that to show it to your grandchildren and tell them this gave you nightmares".  Sounds about right. :)

Some of the carnage on that bad boy came from the bolt out, but a lot of the damage was already done.

that reminds me i put a steel bolt in my aluminum frame where the old guards were becuase one of the aluminum bolts broke when i removed it for the skid plate, i better get that out of there before it freezes up or im going to end up with something similar! :o

get some never seize, and put it on your steel bolts, you wont have to worry about them then.

I just changed the oil on my DR last night.

The bolt is a 17mm head, made of hardened steel, with a nice flat head to get a grip on.

Thus making me continue to wonder why the hell Yamaha uses dinky azz 12 mm heads made of butter like that one.
