I use the quick release straps. I have never once had one come loose. I invest in really good ones though. I hate ratcheting ones.

Those are awesome. I would buy them if I had a trailer or a long bed truck.

I cant find them online. I saw them in the back of a dirtbike mag years ago. It was a holder that mounts to the roof of the trailer and folds down and clamps to the handlebars. It looked neat-o. No straps or wheel blocks to clutter the floor.

That would be cool.

I  need to put 3 bikes in the back of my truck so i was hoping to come up with something better then a million straps. 3 of those floor mount stands would be nice to have but not for $500+

Z, does your truck have the ladder rack holes in the rails on the box? It would be cool to design an overhead assy, kind of like Chris is talking about. One that you can pull in and out just like a ladder rack. If you got measurements, I could have Brian draw up blue prints.

Yea there are holes everywhere. I wanna see pictures of the bar mount set up. I am sure you would need to strap the back end down somehow and arms would have to be pretty heavy duty to be able to move up and down but still have side to side strength.

This one is a little overkill

http://www.mxtras.com/applications.html

This guy we real cheap and made these.. I would use a longer steel nut (like they use to connect threaded rod instead of his aluminum one) to connect the 2 turn buckles, get them to the correct adjustment and put a tack of weld on each side so it doesnt loosen up. Then just use either a small clevis, or a steel climbers clip on the top to hook the pegs, and at the bottom to hook an eyelit.

Hook one peg first (so it lean's a little), move to the other side pull it back so the suspension moves down a bit and hook the other clip to the apposing. peg. OR you could use padlocks instead of climbers clips if its an overnight deal..

Not a bad idea for trailer use.

Then I found this guy did just that, just leave it in gear or the front wheel in a chock.

oh my god! thats awesome! i think that little idea just saved me from getting another trailer if i can get the quad AND bike in it, the biggest thing i was worried about was tying the bike down if its way off to the side. that right there would be perfect!

I wonder how much damage the turnbuckle setup would do to footpegs? Seems simple and cheap enough.

Shouldnt do much damage if any really, maybe scratch it if the bike wasnt pulled down tight enough and the buckle moved on the peg a little bit. Id have that set up right now if I had a trailer.. But I have a pretty sweet boxbar in my truck now.

Better view (not my truck)
