i usually break bikes in pretty easy at first, like the first day. take it for an easy ride, idle at home a bit, then ride about 1/4 throttle 15 min, let cool.  then 30 min half throttle let cool. then about an hour up to 3/4 throttle and cool. then i just ride normal.   always seemed to work pretty well for everything ive had. Ive heard the balls to the wall through the gears break- in on these new engines and im not sure i believe that method. i know they wind them up in the factory but thats thier business.

but that quad wont be going home white wherever i take it

I've broken them in both ways, and I dont' think it really makes a difference.  At least not with the way I ride.  Now I usually buy used to save $$ and don't worry about it at all.

I'd like to make Majestic close to the season opening ride, like last year.  I have settled the score with some stuff that gave me trouble down there now that we've ridden there so much it's getting more fun.  Plus I want to bust some more of that single track!

Count me in for majestic.
As for breaking in, you want to ride with as little load as poss. Avoid constant or extremely high rpms. I saw a pro get a new top end between motos' The mechanic started it up, pinned it, and shut it off. done.

id love to go to majestic anytime. i have never been there so id really want to hit the trails most of all. i can carry two bikes in the trailer if anyone ever needed a carpool. the hyundai elantra gets pretty good gas mileage even with the trailer.

Majestic is awesome. They have by far the best single track I have ever ridden... I probably won't even play on the groomed trails to much. I will be ready in a few weeks.

i just had a really good idea, for if i dont want to carry the quad in the trailer. i can get a trailer hitch for the van pretty cheap and install it myself, thats easy enough. my idea was to put a peice of channel down on the double tounge of the trailer, with tie down eyes off of it for the bike. this will increase my tounge weight dramatically but the van class 3 is good for 350 which should be good. my concern was clearance with the bike on the tounge during turning, so what if i just added a hitch extension, like people use for big campers? that will also help to lower the tounge weight i have heard. like maybe a 16 inch one or something. like this: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=97685&xcamp=google&utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=cpc&zmam=33951326&zmas=12&zmac=112&zmap=97685

"pumped" could be the only way to describe her. she wants to go break in the machine herself now apparantly when we collect the maple sap at the cabin.

im only going to put it on the car once, its alot of weight for it but it seems to be fine, took it for a drive up 104 a few miles. cant afford a hitch for the van just yet, and wife wants to ride in april when we go up to collect the maple sap.
