I might be able to do a day trip Memorial Day wknd. We usually have a big family party that weekend.

Yah.  I think the party is usually on Sunday, so I'd probably go Saturday if at all.

I'll likely make it down there before that too though

I've never made it to Majestic but hope to this year.

 Is Majestic somewhere my buddy can bring his kid on his kx 65 to trail ride also?  His kid is no pro but does well for being only on the 65 for about half of a season and isn't scared of hills and most other obstacles.  He completed an hour race at area 51 at the end of the season last year.

Sure.  I have a friend who brings his 7 year old down there a few times a year.  He rides a 50 and a 70, and has no issues. 

Some of the hills are a little steep for him but he does fine.  It sounds like your friend's son is a pretty skilled rider, so he'd do fine.  You guys could just stick to the green trails with him.
