That sounds fun.

I think I am going to register my KTM and pop for a head light and taillight for it, so I can try some of these dual sport rides.

nevermind, "open to street legal bikes only". so how can this be in place of the newark enduro and make it into a ride only street legal bikes can enjoy?

The enduro was supposed to be street legal also I do believe just were very lax un the rule enforecment.

A51 shouldn't be running. I believe that is a hogback weekend.

I can't speak to the rules for sure other than to say that you were supposed to be legal for Newark and they let a lot of stuff through.

Note that I don't have any inside information and am making most of this stuff up based on the past events.  Trail Ryder probably has actual information.

I would bet it will be a decent amount of trail.  Especially if they are working with some of the same land owners that they have in the past.  You can literally make your way from my house to the Farm (20-25 minutes by car, through two towns) via trails if you know the way. 

The Newark Enduro and then the Funduro ran a bunch of Hogback trail as well. Not sure about this time, as there is a WNYRacing race there that weekend.

Although, I don't know for sure, I don't imagine that there will be a lot of road.  For what I've heard, it will pretty much be the old Newark Enduro course without the tough stuff or at least bypasses around the tough stuff.

Head light, tail light, quiet exhaust, and some type of plate was all that was needed for the Newark Enduro, so I don't know why this event would be any different.  But all clubs must put "street legal" on their event flyer, just to protect their own liability.

if i can get away with that then i have all the minimums, atv registration, insurance (a big one) my exhuast is spark arrested and 94 or less decibiles and head and tail lights. since its not far away and if i dont have any plans that weekend i will probobly go and see if i can ride it, as i  also always wanted to do the newark enduro but never got to.

Yep, the majority were "not exactly street legal".

I've been riding in 5 to 8 sanctioned dual sports per year since 1995, and the last time one of my bikes had turn signals was 1999.  Although, all of my bikes have had legitimate street plates.

Everyone seems to think that dual sporting means 50/50 tires, turn signals, and DRZ and XRLs.  THIS IS FAR FROM THE CASE.  Most dual sport rides I do are more like enduros without checks.

Heck, each day at the Hancock Dual Sport had more trail than the Barbwire Enduro and some might say that Hancock is more challenging.

you have a stator, you should get some real ones anyway just for events such as this that you can take on and off.
