Does this mean you are getting a 2-stroke?

That's one that will probably never happen.   I'm not sure how much riding I have left in me....my balance is pretty much shot at this point.  But I will keep going as long as I can and it will be on a 4s.  I could never deal with the on/off nature of a 2s and the lack of engine braking.

I posted that for you guys...

Jim.

I am thinking about a 2-stroke for my next bike; the latest offerings from KTM, Beta, and GasGas are so smooth and easy to ride, not violent like the 2-strokes of the past.  I should probably do it before I get any older.

This Fall I demo rode a YZ250X and found it too pipey for my tastes.

Even my old ass KTM two stroke is smooth and easy to ride.  I might go four stroke for the next one just for variety though.

Currently at dual sport rides about 50% of the bikes are 2-strokes.

For the last 22 years, my main bikes have been 4-strokes, but I am strongly considering a 2-stroke for my next new bike.  The nice thing is now Beta 2-strokes and the 2018 KTM 250 XCW TPI are oil injected.   :)

Even though i have built two of these motors from the bottom up, this would be a great book to pick up. Especially since most two stroke motors are very similar (well, the newer ones anyway)
