If memory serves, not many took advantage of the second loop.

When we got back from doing both, there weren't many trucks and trailers left in the lot.

I'm not so sure many guys have the ambition to do both loops or they don't understand , come in , get gas, get back out there.

I think for many, they get back after loop 1 and fiddle around, get something to eat and look a the watches and decide against going back out because the pissed an hour or 2 away at the Firehall.

LOL.  True dat!

For whatever reasons, I think a lot of guys have bikes that collect a lot dust ALL year.  And by the time the Monkey Butt rolls around they have only a few hours of actual dirt time under their belts.  And I've seen a lot of guys ride it like a MX or HS, balls to the wall, and at the end of the first loop they are pooped.

Their loss I guess, more sweet unmolested single track for us.

This year, Hancock required a $120 2-day entry.  And I watched the vapor camped next to us pack up and leave at noon on Saturday.  WTH???

Agreed,

There is NO FUEL in Fairville near the Firehall hence the warning to bring fuel for the 2nd loop.

Same as last year.

Is this like the MB where they really don't care about the street legal aspect or no?

Jim.

I have been riding organized Dual Sport Rides all over the Northeast and Canada for the last 20+ years, and no promoter has seemed to care about entrants be "100% legal".  Head light, tail light, quiet exhaust, insurance, and some type of plate seems to be all that matters.  However, entrants behavior on public roads is real important.

Also, outside of New York State, NO ONE seems to know the difference between a NY Street Plate and NY ATV Plate.

I believe all 2 or 3 loops start and end at the Fire Hall.  I plan to have fuel back at my truck.

Here is a printable flyer for pre-registering:

It's says to bring fuel for the second loop...I'm assuming then that this will be the one that does not run through town and out to Hogback?

Jim.

Great location for the guys in the southern tier. Now, if only someone would buy the O'Neil KTM Franchise

You got your wish.  Maddie's bought out O'Neill's.

Between the 2 stores they now have 24 left-over Husqvarna's and 71 left-over KTM's ..... and crates of new 2019's are arriving daily.

And they have (5) 2018 KTM 350 EXC-F's in stock .... hmmm.

I would think a spark arrestor would be required or at the very least you'd want one.

Spark arrestors are not required.  It is a closed course event in a relatively damp area.  Does CNYOA check for spark arrestors at their rut-fests?  I am not sure how this event would be any different.
