The air cooled 4-Valve XR250 is back but with fuel injection and now they call it the CRF250F (I don't understand though why they have two "Fs" in the model name):

GasGas is moving full throttle towards the electric bike movement.

And TM now has an "injected" 2-stroke with electric start:

Friend of mine is selling his bike.
Its in real nice shape.  Ive done most of the work on it, and its setup way sweeter than described.  Barely riden since rebuild. https://buffalo.craigslist.org/mcy/d/ktm-250xc/6746127246.html

Fair price.  Terrible time of the year to sell a motorcycle.  Hopefully, he is getting another bike.

Have you got it in the powerband yet?

I think so.  But I have not swapped the power valve spring or even adjusted the power valve yet.  The current settings and jetting from the dealer seem to be spot on for the type of riding I do.

I am liking this bike way more than I thought I ever would.  I have not installed a dampener yet, and cannot believe how well this bike tracks straight in the roots and over logs.

I am getting ready for snow-qwad season as well as skiing, and will be putting the bike into storage soon.  I will need to pull the rear shock over the winter for a heavier spring to accommodate my fat butt, as well as the "stink bug" fix.

So I took it to the Hammer Run AMA-National Dual Sport Ride this weekend for it's 177 mile break-in ride and this bike is REALLY impressing me.  Everyone told me that I would have to replace the Mikuni carburetor with a unit from Keihn.  But Phil at Five Star KTM told me he re-jetted the Mikuni for WNY and said to try it first.  Well, it ran AWESOME and I got 27+ MPG and at fuel stops I took the exact same amount as my nephew who was on a 2018 250 XCW TPi.

Rides and Where To Ride / Re: Hogback Hill Harescramble

A couple of my co-workers raced it and said it was real good, and that any quagmires were re-routed by the PRA crew by the second lap.

It was not muddy at all, it was AWESOME.  Course had a few bad spots but that happens every year.

Some of the best years of that race have been (from memory): 2007, 2008, 2016.  I would put this year up right up there with those.  Great weather, course was awesome, very little mud.  The guys are pros at avoiding the stuff that gets real bad.

I worked sweep and had a fun time.  I will probably race again next year though as long as the weather is good.

From the pictures I saw, it did not look too muddy.
